Donate food and household essentials in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service! This annual event is held nationally to encourage communities to take action and build the beloved community MLK spoke of. Our drive-through community drive is Monday, January 20, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Walk-up donations are welcome and we’ll have volunteers available to help unload donations. We hope you can participate! All donations will go to local pantries.
When deciding what to donate, here are some helpful hints:
• Household items such as paper towels, toilet paper, dish detergent are not eligible for purchase with a Link card
• Consider pop-top lids – sometimes people do not have a can opener
• Olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper and other spices can transform a meal
• Remember items like Hamburger Helper are only good if you have ground beef
• Baking mixes that require only water are good
• Coffee is a luxury
• Sugar and flour are always needed
• Kraft Mac and Cheese requires milk and butter – consider Velveeta that comes with the sauce
SUNDAY DROP OFF OPTION: Donations can also be dropped off in the church lobby on Sunday, January 19, before or after our worship services at 9am and 10:30am.
