Join Jubilee Community Center for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service — a morning dedicated to service, nourishment, creativity, and community care.In the spirit of Dr. King’s call to action, we’re turning MLK Day into a hands-on opportunity to serve our neighbors and strengthen our community together.
What’s happening:
🌼 Community Service Project
We’ll be planting daffodils around The Sanctuary in honor of the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States — a symbol of growth, hope, and renewal.
🥞 Free Community Brunch & Takeaway Meals
We’ll be serving a free pancake brunch during the event, along with packable takeaway meals (rice & beans).
Any extra food will be shared with local spots where unhoused community members are likely to be staying, for those who can’t make it to The Sanctuary that day.
🎤 Live Entertainment – Community Open Mic
Enjoy live music, poetry, spoken word, and creative expression from community members. Service takes many forms — including sharing our voices and stories.
Ways to participate (now through the event):
💛 Donate financially – Contributions are tax-deductible and help cover food, supplies, and logistics
