The US Department of the Interior describes Martin Luther King, Jr Day as “the only federal holiday that is also designated by Congress as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.””
NASJA’s MLK Day of Service is an opportunity for residents of Stow and the surrounding area to engage in charitable community service and build connections and relationships within our community while recognizing, reflecting, and honoring the legacy of the social justice work led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Activities:
- Make Kid Bags for Open Table
- Create rally and yard signs with messages of love, equity, and peace inspired by MLK
- Watch an excerpt of an MLK speech
