About this Event
As members of this community, we believe MLK Day should be more than a day off it should be a day on.
A day for coming together, for listening, and for reminding ourselves what kind of city we want to continue building.
This gathering at Roxanne’s is an open invitation to the people of Long Beach. It is not a lecture, not a rally, and not a performance it is a shared space for reflection, conversation, and connection. We will honor Dr. King’s legacy with a community art wall for hopes and commitments, an MLK Exhibition in the Exhibition Room, and a moment of silence with candle lighting to hold space for both remembrance and renewal.
Throughout the evening, we will engage in thoughtful, respectful conversations on leadership, race, the future of Long Beach, and the role of business and community in shaping the city we leave behind. These discussions are meant to be approachable, human, and rooted in the real experiences of the people who live and work here.
This event is for everyone neighbors, families, students, business owners, elders, and young leaders. It is for those who feel deeply, those who are curious, and those who simply want to be part of something meaningful.
We hope you can join us and cant wait to see you there!
