About this Event

Join us for the MLAA 2026 Economic forecast Insolvency Trends on Thursday, January 15, 2026, as we dig into what’s ahead for the Edmonton and Alberta markets this year. We’ll look at key trends in both insolvency the broader economy, with insight you can use right away in your business and client conversations.


About the Speakers:

Siddhartha Bhattacharya is a Senior Economist at ATB Financial. Siddhartha focuses on developing comprehensive forecasts and scenarios of Alberta’s economy through the analysis of trends in the provincial, national, and global economy. Before starting in his role at ATB, Siddhartha was an Economist at Alberta Treasury Board and Finance for over five years, where he led macroeconomic forecasting, modeling, and impact analysis work as well as conducted research on current topics and trends for publication purposes.
Siddhartha is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in macroeconomic research and analysis. He graduated from the University of Calgary with a Master’s degree in Economics and also holds a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom.
Sandra Landry is a Senior Vice President with MNP’s Insolvency Services group in Edmonton. She works closely with businesses and individuals facing financial challenges, helping them clearly understand their consumer insolvency and corporate restructuring options so they can make informed decisions. Known for her practical and client-first approach, Sandra guides clients through bankruptcy and proposal processes while managing assets, protecting rights, and easing creditor pressure.

Sandra is a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP), Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT), CPA, and Registered Collaborative Professional, and is actively involved in several professional and community organizations, including serving as Treasurer of the Alberta Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals.

Economic Outlook & Mortgage Market Insights

Insolvency Trends

The discussion will also cover a practical overview of insolvency options, what consumers can realistically expect, and how these trends may continue to evolve as we head into 2026.
