Everyone is invited to Walt’s Bike Shop on Tuesday, Dec. 3 for this year’s Art Reveal highlighting the seasonal beauty of the MKT Nature and Fitness Trail. Local artist David Spear will discuss his inspiration for the painting and will be available to sign posters after the unveiling. Complimentary appetizers, beer and soda will be available.Posters are available as a premium gift for a minimum donation of $20 to the Columbia Parks and Recreation Fund via the online CoMoGives.com campaign beginning on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 12:01 a.m. (scroll down for FAQ concerning online donations).
Walt's Bike Shop has generously offered to again support our campaign with an additional premium of SmartWool® socks for the first 50 people who donate $50 or more (one premium per person).

ART REVEAL SCHEDULE – TUESDAY, DEC 3
MKT Trail Art Unveiling at Walt’s Bike Shop, 1217 Rogers St
*5:15 pm - Complimentary appetizers, beer and soda
*5:30 pm - Park and trail progress report and art unveiling, Gabe Huffington, Parks and Recreation Director
5:40 pm – Comments by Mayor Barbara Buffaloe and David Spear, artist
*5:50 – 7 pm - Poster signing and socializing
The evening will provide an opportunity to view the original art used as the image for the last of a 4-part MKT Trail poster series. Local artist David Spear will be available to sign posters following the art reveal.

I) QUESTION: How can I purchase and pick up the 2024 MKT Trail poster (size 13x19”)?
ANSWER: Donate a minimum of $20 online with a credit card to the Columbia Parks and Recreation Fund via the CoMoGives.com campaign beginning on Sunday, Dec 1, 12:01 a.m.
Everyone is invited to join us during the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Walt’s Bike Shop for the reception and to pick up your poster. Beginning Wednesday, Dec 4 poster pick up will be at the main Parks and Recreation office (see F&Q #1 below):

I) QUESTION: How can I purchase and pick up the 2024 MKT Trail poster (size 13x19”)?
ANSWER: Donate a minimum of $20 online with a credit card to the Columbia Parks and Recreation Fund via the CoMoGives.com campaign beginning on Sunday, Dec 1 at 12:01 a.m.
Posters are provided as a premium for donations of $20 or more. We are unable to accept cash or checks for poster transactions. Immediately following the art unveiling, posters will be available for pick up at Walt’s Bike Shop, 1217 Rogers, on Tuesday, Dec 3 from 5:45 - 7 pm. Beginning Wednesday, Dec 4, posters can be picked up at the main Parks and Recreation Office, #1 S. 7th St., M-F, 8 am – 5 pm. During the evening event on Dec 3, attendees can use their personal phones or City staff will have laptops to assist with online donations.
II) QUESTION: Can I donate prior to or after the art unveiling on Tuesday, Dec 3 and still receive a poster?
ANSWER: Yes. You can begin donating at 12:01 a.m. the morning of Dec 1, 2024 through midnight Tuesday, Dec 31. If you make a donation of $20 or more during the CoMoGives campaign (Dec 1 - Dec 31, 2024), your donation qualifies for a poster. Attending the evening event at Walt’s Bike Shop on Dec 3 offers a unique opportunity to have your poster signed by the artist David Spear.
III) QUESTION: Can I only use a credit card or will you accept cash or a personal check?
ANSWER: This is an online fundraiser with payment by credit card only per the requirements of the CoMoGives.com campaign.
IV) QUESTION: How can I purchase the past 3 years of MKT Trail posters from 2018 – 2020, 2021 Bear Creek Trail, 2022 Stephens Lake Park, and/or the 2023 Hinkson Creek Trail poster?
ANSWER: Posters from previous years are available only during the December online fundraising campaign by donating an additional amount in increments of $20. For example, with a donation of $20 you will receive the 2024 MKT Trail poster. For an additional donation of $60 (total $80), you could also receive 3 posters of your choice from the years 2018 - 2023*.

V) QUESTION: Will you eventually release a poster for each park or trail?
ANSWER: Probably not. Everyone has a finite amount of wall space. This year’s art will potentially be the last of our poster series.
VI) QUESTION: Do you pay the artists and do you use local vendors for printing?
ANSWER: Yes and yes.
