The Mixing Mediums - Workshop Series is instructed by our wonderfully talented artist and instructor, Jess Hughes of Vibrant Hughes. This is a 5 class workshop series, each class is 2 hours in length and offered at the Currents studio. Each class focuses on a different art medium and instruction flows from examples of Jess' personal art works. This workshop series is geared toward folks 15 years of age through adulthood.Mixed Mediums: This workshop is the final class of the series Mixing Mediums. In it Jess, guides the class through experimenting with forms using an oak leaf meadow as a visual example. It will dive into the techniques needed to saturate hues to attain proper lights and darks. Additionally this tutorial will go over glazes and washes to add colour to an already completed drawing, wet on wet VS wet on dry painting, and how creating shadows and highlights work differently with watery mediums. This tutorial will include colour theory, and 15 minutes for questions will be provided towards the end of the workshop. This workshop is designed for those 15 years old through adulthood.
