About this Event
Using washi, plain and decorative, as well as an assortment of media, join artist instructor Kim-Lee Kho in a day of Mixed Media in Layers with Coloured Washi.
While exploring a variety of media – brush and ink, water-soluble colour – and graphite sticks, paint pens, soft pastels etc, you will discover how the different media and washi react and change. We will be playing with layers, cutting, tearing, fastening, pasting and stitching to create a mixed-media, layered-washi artwork that captures your unique vision. All washi, as well as most tools and supplies will be provided by The Japanese Paper Place and your instructor.
Participants are asked to bring:
- an apron, or dress to get messy
- notebook and pen
- a few favourite tools/media (eg coloured ink, a special brush, paper punches, or...?)
- your lunch*
*The Japanese Paper Place has a refrigerator and a number of small appliances available for your use during the workshop.
