The Mancos Creative District is excited to host Mixed in Mancos 2025 on Saturday, March 8. Mixed in Mancos is an annual celebration of local music presented by the Mancos Creative District. During the first full weekend of March, three bands from the Four Corners region perform at the historic Mancos Opera House. This event is recorded, and a live album is later released on CD and vinyl. The craft of songwriting is promoted through the selection of original tunes, and local visual art is featured on the album. New for 2025 will be a songwriting panel on Friday, March 7 from 4:00-6:00 at the Mancos Commons. Songwriters from this and last year’s bands will discuss the various methods used to create songs. Mark Stevens, of the Mancos Creative District, will lead the songwriting panel, and this event is free to the public. Afterwards, everyone is encouraged to get a refreshment at Mancos Brewing Company.
The main event will occur on Saturday, March 8, with the doors of the Mancos Opera House opening at 5:00.
Mixed in Mancos 2025 will highlight three original bands that sing from the heart.
The Lindells (6:00) feature intricate guitar lines, melodic vocal harmonies, a powerful rhythm section and complex keyboards. For over four decades, Chris and Kim Lindell have written songs that reveal the many facets of songcraft. A Post-Apocalyptic Folk Rock exploration.
Carute Roma (7:30) is a high-energy Southwest Colorado-based Roma music band that combines classic Roma and multicultural songs with unique original tunes. Fiddle, accordion, and trumpet are backed by guitar, bass, and drums – while led by vocal harmonies in nine different languages. Together for 20 years, the founding group of four has doubled in size, growing into a well-rounded and talented band of local musicians. Dedicated to bringing joy and smiles wherever they play, Carute Roma gets everyone dancing.
Tha ‘Yoties (9:00), (short for Coyotes) are a reggae/rock band based in Flagstaff, Arizona. The band is notable for their catchy melodies, lively performances, and conscious message. Combining influences of rock, reggae, ska, and metal, they refer to their brand of music as IrieZona Reggae Rock. Lyrically, their music reflects the historic and contemporary struggles of Native American tribes of the southwest. Through the universal language of music, Tha ‘Yoties are howling for the Indigenous people and lands of the Colorado Plateau.
Local refreshments will be available, courtesy of Mancos Brewing, Fenceline Cider, and Mancos Liquors. DeWayne Jackson, brewer of Mancos Brewing, will be crafting a special beer for Mixed in Mancos 2025.
This is an all-ages show. 21+ patrons must present an ID to consume alcohol.
This event will likely sell out, so get your tickets soon! Tickets can be purchased through the Mancos Creative District website.
