Mixael Cabrera is from the small town of Botín in the province of Villa Clara in Cuba. In Cuba, he was called "El Sonero de la loma del Botín", after the famous son song "Son de la loma" (Son from the hill). Cabrera is a songwriter and a fantastic trés player with a strong desire to preserve the authentic elements of his culture. He uses them precisely to play son, in addition to Cuban rhythms such as bolero, changüí, chachachá, rumba and timba.
In 2016, Mixael Cabrera released his first album Llegó lo que te gusta from Barcelona where he now lives. In 2017, the sequel Origen was released, produced and recorded in Havana with prestigious artists such as Cesar 'Pupy' Pedroso and Alexander Abreu. In 2019, the third album El son se viste de gala was released, and in 2022 he released a double album produced and recorded in Mexico City, Havana and in his hometown of La Loma del Botín, entitled Lo mejor de mi. It features famous artists such as Pancho Amat, Dayron Ortega, Reneito Avich, Julito Padrón and Eduardo Silveira (Los Van Van).
Whether performing on grand stages or in intimate settings, Mixeal brings a level of energy, artistry, and professionalism that consistently leaves a lasting impression. His ability to fuse technical skill with emotion ensures that every performance is an unforgettable experience.
