ABOUT THE TALK "FINANCING SUSTAINABLE FINANCE: THE KITCHEN SINK APPROACH"
Attaining Net Zero by 2050 involves huge sums of money. Approximately US$9.2 trillion in annual spending on physical assets in energy and land use systems over the next 26 years. That’s a whole lot more than infrastructure finance, which was the last big headline cause by the human race - eleven years ago, McKinsey Global Institute estimated US$3.3 trillion per annum was needed in global infrastructure investment spending between 2013 to 2030. In his talk, Joe Cherian will propose a novel sustainable, blended financing mechanism that draws on nature-based carbon sequestration and offsets in order to achieve some of the Net Zero emission targets.
