The Deering Estate Foundation is hosting its 5th-annual Mistletoe & Martinis, a signature holiday event on Friday, December 9th, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Deering Estate. This sophisticated soirée is the estate's signature holiday event – this year with a 1920s theme to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the construction of the Stone House. For one night only, guests are invited to don period dress, stroll the light-strung grounds, and celebrate the season with live entertainment, designer-led holiday décor and tasty food and drinks from some of Miami's best restaurants, catering teams and drink sponsors.
Co-chaired by Deering Estate Board Members and members of the 100 Ladies of Deering, Nancy Eggland, Becky Roper Matkov, Beth Person, Jerrod Sharp, and Jo Ann Szaro, this evening of merriment is all about community.
All night long, guests will be able to feast on delicious bites from some of Miami's best restaurants and caterers, including Michelin-starred NaiYaRa Thai and Sushi Miami, Seawell Fish N' Oyster, True Food Kitchen, Delicious Catering, Catering by Les, Sports Grill, Golden Rule Seafood, Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Bar, Isabelle's Grill Room and Garden at the Ritz Carlton, Pubbelly Sushi, Joe's Stone Crab, Loews South Beach Hotel, B Bistro Miami, and Chill N Ice Cream.
While a variety of other beverages will be available, the title event drink, martinis, will be well shaken and stirred with Miami’s first Cuban American owned craft distilled vodka, Voli 305, by Armando Perez, Pitbull, and also with London distilled Whitley Neill Gin.
As they eat and drink, attendees can spend the evening mingling with family and friends, listening to live music from the FIU School of Music orchestra and students performing classical instrumental and jazz holiday classics and favorites, all while admiring the beautiful holiday lights and exploring the lavishly decorated Stone House and the Richmond Cottage. This year, the Richmond Cottage dining room will be dressed and adorned with elegant holiday details and set in the fashion of a celebratory dinner to ring in the holiday season as it could have during the time of the Deering’s residence. The Stone House library will toast the rise of the Golden Age of cinema with accents and decor that capture the magic and splendor of vintage Hollywood.
Each room is thoughtfully designed and dressed by a cadre of award-winning professional interior designers, led by Deering Estate Designer in Residence, Alfredo Brito. The beautifully decorated event space is coordinated by Aloré Event Firm.
The annual silent auction that typically accompanies the event will be digital, via Bidding Owl, and will open on December 2, 2022, allowing both attendees and non-attendees to participate, with the winning bids announced online on December 11, 2022.

Tickets for Mistletoe & Martinis are $175 for Deering Estate members and $200 for non-members. Space is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance, either online or by calling (305) 235-1668, ext. 263. All proceeds from this event will benefit The Deering Estate Foundation's community, conservation and cultural programming.
