Jenny Eck will facilitate this STAR-T (Secondary Trauma and Resiliency) skills training. This session is relevant for everyone, regardless of what trainings you have had before. Specifically, we will work on skills that will teach resistance workers how to manage their nervous system as they sustain action in the middle of these dilemmas that are threatening personal and collaborative safety.
Jenny holds a masters degree in International Peace and Conflict Studies. She is the Communication and Development Director at the Indian Law Resource Center where she supports the rights of Indigenous peoples across the Americas. She has extensive experience in nonprofit work and has served 3 terms as an elected legislator in the MT House of Representatives including a 2 year term as House Minority Leader.
The training integrates trauma theory, attachment theory, neurobiology, and embodiment work as it applies to the secondary trauma we are exposed to through work in traumatic work environments. Jenny creates safety in any experiential process and encourages participants to track the impact of these training strategies on their whole system.
