Events
1. Max Axle Clean & Press
60 second time limit
3 attempts
Wessels rule on all events, if you miss an attempt, you're done with that event. Plan your openers accordingly.
The axle will start from the floor and must be cleaned to the shoulders, then pressed, push pressed, push jerked, or split jerked overhead to a locked out position
The athlete may clean or continental the bar to the shoulders; however NO resting of the bar on the belt or similar object will be allowed
Wait for the "good" down signal from judge before lowering axle
"Good" lift: axle locked out overhead with arms straight, head thru, legs and feet parallel and stationary
Lower axle under control. Deliberate dropping of the axle will result in the athlete forfeiting attempt.
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: chalk, belt, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, and knee wraps
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: any item placed within the belt to provide a shelf, back of belt built up more than 8", tacky, elbow wraps
2. Trap Bar Deadlift
60 second time limit
1 attempt for repetitions
Trap Bar is 12.75" or less
"Good" Lift: athlete must lift the trap bar to a standing position with head up, shoulders back, legs and feet in line.
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: belt, chalk, knee wraps, knee sleeves, and lifting straps
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: tacky or similar product, lifting hooks, and no suits
3. Max Distance Sandbag Carry
90 second time limit
50" turnaround
Sandbag weight TBD
Goal: athlete must get sandbag as far as possible in anyway possible. Competitors can carry, roll, push, and shoulder the sandbag for distance. If the sandbag is carried or shouldered, it must be dropped and picked back up at each 50" turnaround mark
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: tacky or similar product
4. Max Height Sandbag Throw
30 second time limit
Unlimited attempts
Start at 12' and raise by 6" each round
Sandbags start 10" away
"Good": sandbag clears the bar
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: chalk, belt, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, and knee wraps
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: tacky, briefs
5. Keg Load
60 second time limit to load keg over bar as many times as possible
Bar leveled at 48"
Keg starts directly under bar
"Good": keg is picked up and loaded over bar, each repetition will be counted
Judge will be on opposite side of bar to help roll keg back to competitor)
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: chalk, belt, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, and knee wraps
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: tacky or similar product
