Join us for the 3rd annual Mississippi Ski Riders “Rez Ride”, a jet-ski group ride on the Ross Barnett Reservoir in central Mississippi. All jet-skis are welcome and encouraged to join this group ride!LAUNCH/MEETING AREA:
On Saturday, July 13th 2024 we will launch in Brandon, MS at Tommy’s Trading Post boat launch (4238 MS-43). By no later than 10:00am we’ll gather just beyond the no wake zone coming out of the launch. Please be launched and waiting beyond the no wake zone by 10:00am. At this time, the group will start the ride together.
RIDE SUMMARY:
We’ll head northeast through the twists and turns of the Pearl River for 13 miles until we reach Flag Island. At the sandbar we’ll have social time for pictures, drinks, talking with friends, and meeting new people. After an hour or so at the sandbar, it’s time for the second part of our ride, back in the direction we came from and beyond. We’ll pass our launch location and continue in a southwest direction into the open water of the reservoir. At the end of the open water near Spillway Road are a few options to choose from including food and drinks at Shaggy’s on the Rez (1733 Spillway Rd, Brandon, MS) or Pelican Cove Grill (3999 Harborwalk Dr, Ridgeland, MS), and a popular underwater sandbar hangout area called “The Cove”(see map). At this point the organized event is complete and individuals can decide what is best from themselves.
The completed route is approximately 49 miles in total. This is easily in range of most jet-ski fuel tanks, so bringing additional fuel is up to you. Some smaller skis such as a Yamaha EX or Sea-Doo Spark might require additional fuel.

Our group rides/events are created for a fun and safe gathering of jet-ski enthusiasts. Group rides are NOT a race, as we’ll try to safely stick together. Please look out for each other and be courteous to anyone else on the water. We have rarely had any issues during a group ride or event, but remember you are attending at your own risk.
