About this Event
In conjunction with the City of St. Paul, Mississippi River Plastic Pollution Initiative and the United Nations Environment Programme we are excited to host an afternoon of citizen data collection and clean up of plastic litter and other debris from the banks of the Mississippi River.
The data collected will be used to generate a ‘plastic pollution map’ that will help policy makers, business and citizens create a cleaner, sustainable tomorrow and help keep our rivers and seas clean.
If possible download the Debris Tracker App to prepare for the day. More information can be found at https://debristracker.org
Please note MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED when interacting with UNA-MN members and volunteers. Trash bags will be provided.
What to expect:
When you arrive, training will be provided so data collection is clear and easy. At the end of the collection, simply leave the trash bag at the training site and the City will pick it up.
We welcome you to stay for any amount of time, whether it be for a half-hour or all four hours.
