Dr. Annita Lucchesi (Cheyenne), founder of the Sovereign Bodies Institute, will present on the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People. For decades, the rates of murder, rape, and violent crime are higher than national averages for the United States. In our neighboring countries, the numbers are no better, and in some cases, even worse. Human trafficking and homicides receive only spotty attention, particularly when the victims are women and girls.
