Join DVSCP for an engaging and impactful panel discussion that brings together advocates, legal experts, and law enforcement to shed light on the realities of domestic violence. The panel will identify the systemic gaps revealed in the Gabby Petito case and discuss solutions to improve domestic violence response. The conversation will also explore the intersection of trauma-informed policing, legal protections, and survivor advocacy.
Clips from the Netflix documentary "American Murder: Gabby Petito" will be shown.
Panelists will identify missed red flags, warning signs, and early intervention, as well as how how officers are trained in trauma-informed response and where the legal system falls short in protecting domestic violence victims.
The goal of this event is to empower our community members to respond to red flags within their own social circles and to be a voice for change.
