The pageant will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Theatre Albany located at 514 Pine Ave. The pageant is open to girls ages 0-21 years old. There are no residency requirements. Age groups: Baby Miss (0-23 months) - Teeny Miss (2-3 years) - Tiny Miss (4- 5 years) - Little Miss (6-7 years) - Young Miss (8-9 years) - Junior Miss (10-12 years) - Teen Miss (13-15 years) and Miss (16-21 years). Please note that age divisions are subject to change due to the entries. All contestants affected will be contacted if a change occurs. Contestants must compete in the age group as of February 22, 2025. We are a semi-glitz scholarship style pageant - which means we are not glitz or natural, we fall in between. Contestants will compete in two phases of competition. All age groups will compete in Fun Fashion/ Outfit of Choice to go with the theme of " We all LOVE pecans!" Outfits can be red, pink, white, with hearts/ pecans/ tractors, etc. Anything that shows LOVE for the pecan commodity. Outfits can be as simple as an off the rack dress or outfit. Pageant fun fashions are ok too. This is a time to show creativity and have fun. Judges will only judge how well the outfit fits the theme of " We all LOVE pecans!" During the fun fashion competition, all Little, Young, Junior, Teen, and Miss contestants will do a simple introduction to include their name, hometown, and why they love Pecans. The introduction should be less than 15 seconds. This will be done at the back center mark as they enter the stage. Then they may complete the walk of their choice. For the second phase of competition, all contestants should wear a pageant dress of their choice. The dress may be short or long. Contestants may wear age appropriate make-up(for stage) and hair. There is not a specified walk pattern. It is suggested that contestants do a front T pattern or Miss America circle pattern but the pattern will not be judged. Little, Young, Junior, Teen, and Miss contestants will all answer a simple onstage question. This will be done at the back center mark as they enter the stage. Then they may complete the walk of their choice. Then they may complete the walk of their choice. We will crown a Pecan Capital queen in each age group. Optional categories will be best dress, best hair, best smile, best fun fashion, and most photogenic. Entry fee for the pageant is $100 which includes divisional optionals(best dress, hair, smile, fun fashion, and photogenic). Deadline to enter is Monday, February 17th. All fees must be paid by the deadlines. Entry fee can be paid via PayPal(friends and family only) to [email protected] . Any entries not sent friends and family will be returned. Line up is based on receipt of application and fees. Your spot will not be held without payment. Venmo is available at request. Please contact me for that information. Cash is also accepted by drop off only. Admission for the pageant is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 5th grade. All spectators must pay(except the contestants). All dressing rooms will be upstairs so please plan accordingly. Only one female chaperone will be allowed to go to the dressing room with the contestant. THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM OR DRESSING ROOMS. If you must eat, you will have to take it outside on the covered porch. Tentative schedule: (Please note this is subject to change and a final schedule will be posted and sent out the week of the pageant!!!!) 9:00 AM - dressing rooms open 11:00 PM - Baby, Teeny, and Tiny Miss Competition - (Fun Fashion, Beauty, and Crowning) 1:00 PM - Little, Young, Junior, Teen, and Miss Competition - (Fun Fashion, Beauty, Crowning). All new queens will be asked to stay for a group picture after the older group pageant. Please remember this schedule is subject to change. Times may move forward or backwards from what is listed.
