MONDA KRIMLIGO
More than two decades since they last played a hometown show together, the original line-up of 00s indie-punk dickheads MISS BLACK AMERICA are marking their 25th Anniversary with a one-off fundraiser for St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds.
Formed after a chance encounter at a drum 'n' bass night, Miss Black America (singing guitarist Seymour Quigley, guitarist Gish, bassist Mike Smith and drummer Neil Baldwin) were propelled into a low-wattage national spotlight after BBC radio legend John Peel enthusiastically championed their 2001 debut 'The Adrenaline Junkie Class-A Mentalist' EP on his Radio 1 show, prompting Rolling Stone magazine to over-enthusiastically dub Bury St Edmunds 'The New Seattle'. The ensuing 18-month whirlwind saw MBA touted as next big things by everyone from NME and Rock Sound to Scootering Magazine and The Guardian; the band recorded four Peel Sessions, two for Steve Lamacq, two for Radio X's John Kennedy and one of the first ever 6music sessions for Tom Robinson, and toured relentlessly (over 250 gigs, including supports with The Libertines, The Dandy Warhols, Liars and the Kaiser Chiefs), finally releasing a semi-lauded debut album, 'God Bless Miss Black America' (all five singles from which appeared in John Peels Festive Fifty, with the bands biggest near-hit, 'Talk Hard', hitting Number 3) before imploding through sheer exhaustion, musical differences and a crushing lack of income at the end of 2002. Now they're back, doing what they do best: playing a bunch of songs no-one ever wanted to hear again, and ruining your day.
Support comes from Norwich's total rock heroes DAMP MATCHES, Bury-based avant-sludge insanicore trio H*LLO K*TTY FUN LAND and Ipswich's indescribably wonderful experimental outfit MONDA KRIMLIGO. Bonvolu alsendi la pordiston; laŭŝajne estas rano en mia bideo, as the Esperantinos would say.

THE HUNTER CLUB IS A SAFE SPACE
We take audience safety very seriously at The Hunter Club, and strongly believe that gigs can and should be safe spaces, free from harassment, intimidation, prejudice, bullying and violence. We expect that all artists, venue staff and attendees will respect our values, and we have a zero tolerance policy towards those who do not. Anyone who endangers the enjoyment and safety of others at a Washing Machine night will be ejected and barred. It is unfortunate that in the 21st Century we still have to say this stuff, but we hope that by doing so we can help to create an atmosphere where everyone feels safe and able to enjoy themselves.
