Over the past two years, Misfit Mamas, Inc. has been dedicated to providing virtual and in-person community engagement, resources, and assistance to more than 6,500 families throughout Connecticut. Our organization's primary focus is on cultivating an inclusive and non-judgmental environment that accommodates families from diverse backgrounds and varying life stages. We humbly seek your support for our most ambitious fundraising initiative to date, with the aim of raising $500,000 for the Briarwood Project. This project aims to create a sustainable hub for our organization, cultivating an environment conducive to the holistic growth of families. It will encompass diverse community play spaces, specialized programs, communal residences, a standalone birthing facility, and an array of services tailored to provide resources and assistance to families at different life stages and compositions.
Our dedicated team, supported by enthusiastic volunteers, works tirelessly to foster a supportive community. Together, we strive to bridge the gaps families may face, offering a comprehensive network of services and resources designed to uplift and empower. From parenting workshops and support groups to educational resources and recreational activities, our programs are tailored to meet the diverse needs of families, assisting them in navigating the complexities of modern life with confidence and ease.
On Friday, July 26, 2024, the Misfit Mamas, Inc. will host the Misfit Masquerade Ball at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT, from 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Attendees will delight in a lavish dining experience featuring dinner, dessert, and an open bar. The event will include both silent and live auctions showcasing a diverse range of enticing items, alongside the recognition of individuals who have made significant contributions to our organization and community.
With a fundraising goal of $500,000, our aim is to secure a mutually beneficial agreement with the property owners and provide financial support for initial repair expenses. We are reaching out to seek your assistance for our most substantial fundraising endeavor to date. Our primary objective is to acquire and renovate the historic Briarwood/Lincoln College situated on Mt. Vernon Road in Southington. This transformation will turn the site into a vibrant community center fostering family well-being. The funds raised will not only enhance our projects initiatives but also make a lasting impact on the youth and family programs we offer currently, ultimately benefiting numerous children and families throughout the state, thanks to the unwavering dedication of our community volunteers
