"Misery" by William Goldman is a tense, eerie thriller based on Stephen King’s 1987 novel and the Academy Award-winning 1990 film directed by Rob Reiner and starring Kathy Bates and James Caan. When famed romance novelist Paul Sheldon is badly injured in a car crash that leaves him unconscious, he is rescued by his number one fan Annie Wilkes, who takes him to her secluded house to nurse him back to health. It rapidly becomes evident that Annie is mentally unstable. When a local sheriff comes to the house to investigate, all hell breaks loose.Kim Dupuis directs Catherine Verow, Mark DiPietro, and Michael Auerbach in this dark psychological thriller which is sure to raise the hairs on the back of your neck.
Performances are Friday and Saturday, November 14-15, and Thursday through Saturday, November 20-22 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, November 16 and November 23 at 2 p.m. at The Edge Theater.
