The choirs will be joined by Saint Georges String Quintet, Mezzo Soprano Sheelagh Greer and Augustina Taborda on Bandoneon. The Conductors are Mark Mc Grath and Ella Rosenberg.

Misa a Buenos Aries is a choral Mass setting by the contemporary Argentinian Composer Martin Palmeri. It is perhaps his best known and most successful work, which has been performed in over 18 countries around the world, often with himself as piano soloist. The Saint George’s Singers are privileged to present it here in Northern Ireland with the Motettenchor from Stuttgart, Germany, who are visiting for the first time as part of an exchange visit between the two choirs. The work features the bandoneon which is a type of concertina, particularly popular in Argentina and Uruguay: it is a typical instrument in most tango ensembles.
The choirs will also perform beautiful choral works by Durufle, Kodaly, Poulenc, Mendelssohn, Rameau and Rheinberger.
