About this Event
The Miriki program has served as a center of artistic excellence for the Indigenous youth of Far North Queensland for more than a decade.
Within this program, the term "Developing Artist" (DA) refers to youth performers between 6 and 17 years old who form the core of Miriki's artistic community. These young artists undergo a structured process to enhance their talents and acquire the necessary skills for a professional career in the performing arts industry.
Additionally, they are encouraged to become leaders within their families and communities. As part of this leadership development, the DAs annually participate in the Murama Indigenous Leadership Summit in Sydney.
Over 100 youths from Cairns, Innisfail, Atherton, Mareeba, and Townsville are recognised as Miriki Developing Artists.
Once they've graduated and gone on to shine in their fields, they become part of the esteemed Miriki alumni.
Join us as we come together to celebrate the past achievements of our dedicated team members, developing artists and Alumni.
We are excited to honor the accomplishments of our DAs and eagerly anticipate the future successes of our promising up-and-coming DAs in the next decade.
