Join local interdisciplinary artist Miranda Aisling (ash-lean) in an intimate folk concert at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck on Saturday, December 6, at 6:00 PM. Aisling has called Gloucester home for six years, first experiencing the city as one of the inaugural artists-in-residence at the Manship Artists Retreat. With deep roots in Cape Ann’s creative community, she spent the past four years as Head of Education & Engagement at the Cape Ann Museum, where she curated seven exhibitions and presented an impressive 1,620 events for 45,200 attendees. Thanks to the support of local artists, Aisling has both a music and painting studio en route to Rocky Neck and a ceramics studio in Lanesville.
Starting her musical journey by teaching herself guitar at the age of seven, Aisling’s original folk songs blend frank vulnerability with insightful social commentary. A classically trained pianist who shifted from Bach to the Indigo Girls, she brings the lively spirit of a folk festival to her performances, engaging audiences with a mix of sung and spoken storytelling.
