Miramar "bring(s) the bolero into the 21st century" (All About Jazz). Featuring the sublime singing duo Laura Ann Singh and Rei Alvarez, the band is inspired by all things retro and romantic. They carry the torch of Bolero-Beat, made popular in the 1960’s for its blend of boleros with psych rock, folk, soul, funk and more. The new album "Entre Tus Flores" available from the historic Latin label Ansonia Records, has been described as a "retro-tastic string-driven take on the bolero" (Sounds and Colours) with "Cinematic Intensity" (Style Weekly). It features ten tracks, including nine original songs in Spanish by award winning song-writer Rei Alvarez, arranged by Marlysse Simmons-Argandoña. The husband-wife team is known previously for their work with the indie-salsa band Bio Ritmo.

Miramar’s other releases include a bolero-rock 45 on Daptone Records, their debut album on Barbés Records “Dedication to Sylvia Rexach” and the single "Olas y Arenas" also by Rexach, arranged by Simmons featuring Singh with the Rosette String Quartet.
The band, includes a variety of heavyweights from the Richmond, VA and Brooklyn music scene, including DJ Harrison (drums) and Andrew Randazzo (bass) of Butcher Brown, bassist Cameron Ralston (Spacebomb/Bonnie Light Horseman), guitarist Bryan Vargas and Sebastian Cruz of Brooklyn, NY and Gary Kalar (Mucca Pazza), Giustino Riccio (Bio Ritmo), Adam Hopkins (Out of Your Head) and members of the Richmond Symphony.
The album is mixed by rising star Simon Guzman, known for his work with Brazilian superstar Rogê at Diamond West Records and mastered by celebrated JJ Golden, both out of the Los Angeles.
