Minute Monologue Championship HEAT 3.
The last 2023 heat before the Grand Final in November!
Join us for an exciting evening of talent and passion at Heat 3 of the Minute Monologue Championship, followed by an industry mixer, hosted by the Sonder Acting Studio.
Get ready to witness some of the best actors in town battling it out with their captivating one-minute monologues....that they write one hour before the audience arrives!
That's right. Actors will need to write, rehearse and perform ORIGINAL monologues with only one hour preparation.
This is where Actors put their instruments to the ultimate test, and have an absolute blast while doing so.
Industry Judges will score the pieces and offer a quick critique after each performer.
Judges to be announced shortly.
CASH PRIZES are awarded to the top 4 scoring performers, plus an audience choice award.
If the audience choice award is also in the judges top 4, the judges 5th place will receive a wildcard invitation to the Minute Monologue Championship FINAL held in November, where we will determine who is the MINUTE MONOLOGUE CHAMPION.
Prizes include cold hard cash, coaching/classes at Sonder Acting Studio, a $350 voucher for lessons at NVS Vocal Performance Studio, and the winner will receive a free headshot package with one of our favourite photographers.
Following the performance and prize presentation, we will be hosting an industry mixer to foster community.

*FOR PARTICIPATING ACTORS*
Actors are provided with a key piece of information that must be included in their piece (a line of dialogue, an object, a relationship).
There will be two industry mentors present to help the Actors shape their piece. Mentors for heat 3 are Studio Founder Shane Savage and Studio Associate Megan Peta Hill.
5:15pm Actors Arrival.
5:30pm Actors induction and prompt given.
5:45pm Actors begin writing and rehearsing their original pieces.
6:30pm doors open to audience
7:00pm SHARP, performance begins.
Actors will not know the running order ahead of time. We want you to practice the skill of jumping in to the unknown and have faith in the knowledge that when you are called upon, you have the ability to respond spectacularly (you know I can't help but include a teachable moment).
