THIS WORKSHOP IS ONLY FOR MINNESOTA RESIDENT!On May 20th & 21st, we will have Riss & Jon Leitzke to present: “Modern DeafBlind 102"
This two-day in-person workshop is an update and follow up to the DeafBlind 101 workshop held last year. This workshop is open to residents of Minnesota and is intended for interpreters, SSPs, and other practitioners who work with individuals who are DeafBlind.
This workshop will cover three main topics: DeafBlind Culture, Experience of Tactile Communication & DeafBlind Representation, and Language Deprivation & Acquisition. Through a combination of presentation, discussion, and interactive activities, participants will learn about key aspects of DeafBlind culture, challenges of acquiring language and communicating effectively, differences between various service provider roles, and strategies to enhance the autonomy of people who are DeafBlind.
