When ๐ ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฒ๐น ๐ก๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ป โaccidentallyโ coined the term โminimalist musicโ in 1968, he never dared to dream that decades later he and composer ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ ๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐ would be considered the pioneers of an influential musical movement. As understated as it is overwhelming, their music has shown that repetition is not a limitation but rather a source of trance and intense emotion.
Minimalism is alive and in motion, which can be heard in the music of contemporary heirs ๐๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ฒ-๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ต (๐๐ช๐ท๐ช๐ฏ๐จ, ๐๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐ด ๐๐ต๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด) and ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ (๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฏ), who both bring colour to the British cinema of today. They push minimalism in modern, surprising directions. During the concert, their work and that of Glass and Nyman will be performed by the ๐๐ฟ๐๐๐๐ฒ๐น๐ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ. The orchestra takes you on a journey through a (film) musical movement that repeats, without ever standing still.
