About this Event
The Institut français NL is organising “Minimal Circuit NL”, a series of events and meetings on digital cultures on November 12-14, 2024, in partnership with Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam, Creative Coding in Utrecht, and Waag Futurelab in Amsterdam. The programme will use “permacomputing” as a starting point to explore the connections it fosters between video games, contemporary arts, and the concept of limits.
To this end, the Institut français NL is bringing together art and designs students, artists, researchers and professionals from France and the Netherlands for a three-day programme of interactive video game performances, workshops, and panel discussions in Rotterdam, Utrecht and Amsterdam.
This programme follows a European Permacomputing Game Jam, which will be held from October 11-13, 2024, across eight hubs across Europe, including Creative Coding in Utrecht and Worm in Rotterdam. This competition challenges art and design students to simultaneously create a minimalist video game. One student from a French art and design school will receive a special prize from Institut français NL, enabling him to join the professional delegation and present his work in the Netherlands.
“Minima Circuit NL” is organised by Institut français NL, in collaboration with French curator Vincent Moulinet, as part of Novembre numérique, an international festival, initiated by the Institut Français in Paris, inviting the French cultural network abroad to celebrate digital cultures and showcase the diversity of French digital creation.
