About this Event
Collectively, open hours are fairly informal and unstructured. On any given day, expect a mix of pre-planned activities and extra time for ad hoc activities, tours, or conversations.
Throughout the winter, likely practices include:
- Establish and tend forest patches
- Small building projects
- Scarify and stratify seeds
- Take and tend hardwood cuttings
- Pollard trees
- Make biochar
- Start and tend compost such as
- Static compost (for trees and bushes)
- Kitchen compost (for herbaceous plants)
- Leaf mold
- Vermicompost
- JADAM liquid fertilizer
- Johnson-Su bioreactor
- Make and apply compost extract and tea
- Install and maintain irrigation
- Plant trees and bushes
- Process and preserve yields like
- Native desert flora
- Herbal teas
- Sugar / jaggery
- Olives
- Moringa leaves
- Acorns
Kids are invited, too. They will be under your supervision.

There is plenty of street parking along Jasmine (on the north) and Pima (on the east).
