The Mini Visionaries Visual Perception Playgroup is an interactive and educational event designed for children aged 3 to 10 years old. This playgroup aims to enhance the visual perception skills of young children through stimulating activities and games.
Because there is a limited capacity of 12 children per session, the playgroup is divided into two one-hour sessions.
During the event, children will engage in various hands-on activities that encourage the development of visual perception skills, such as visual discrimination, visual closure, visual figure ground, visual attention, visual integration, visual-spatial skills and hand-eye coordination. They will also explore different textures, patterns, and visual illusions that help enhance their ability to perceive and interpret visual information. There are 10+ play-stations to explore and enjoy, in addition to a little baby corner (children under 2 play free).
The playgroup will be facilitated by experienced educators who will guide the children through the activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. Parents are encouraged to participate and support their child's learning journey.
The Mini Visionaries Visual Perception Playgroup aims to provide parents with a solid foundation in visual perception skills, which are crucial for everyday life and future learning, along with a selection of play ideas to promote those skills. It fosters creativity, problem-solving, and cognitive development, while also promoting social interaction and teamwork among the children. Children will leave home with souvenir toys and a workbook including a series of visual processing activities.
Parents will have a chance to chat with an experienced orthoptist about their child's visual concerns and gain insights on vision therapy options. You can also register your child name's for the free vision screening session held the following week.
