Join us on Saturday, December 13 for our Mini Parol Making Workshop! Parols are a traditional Filipino Christmas lantern made from bamboo sticks and covered with different colors of crèpe paper. Similar to the star piñata frequently seen during winter holidays in Mexico, parols historically come from a combination of Indigenous Filipino traditions and Spanish colonial ones.
Be sure to stop by our “Mountain of Gold” exhibit afterwards to learn more about El Paso’s local Filipino history!
Come by and create your own personal mini parol to take home. The event is FREE while supplies last.
