The Miners Memorial Service is held to honour the men and women who have lost their lives servicing the mining industry over the past century.The service is attended by family members, mine management and mines rescue personnel.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and lay floral tributes if they wish.
A symbolic miner’s lamp will be lit to signify the beginning of the Festival.
