This series of three lectures by Alison Tymon will take place on Fridays 15, 22, 29 Nov 2024, 10-12. This listing is to buy tickets for individual lectures, which cost £7 each. You can buy tickets for the full series, costing £18, here.
The course will cover the composition and characteristics of economic minerals and those which form the rocks of the earth’s crust. Minerals which are economically valuable have to be concentrated in rocks by a variety of processes, which will be explained in powerpoint presentations. No previous knowledge of geology is required.
Identifying minerals is not easy in practice but there will be plenty of samples to learn from, so please bring your own hand-lens or magnifying glass.
Tea and coffee will be served, and all are welcome. There is no need to print out and bring your ticket, as we will have a record of your booking.
All bookings are subject to our Terms and Conditions. If you book this course online, we will hold your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy. If you do not wish us to hold your personal data, please book by post (see www.berwickea.org) and do not supply an email address.
