Georgia Buddhist Camp: One-day Mindfulness Retreat at Wat Lao Buddha Khanti

We're excited to begin the new year with another One-Day Camp hosted by Georgia Buddhist Camp and AtlantaBuddhism.org at Wat Lao Buddhakhanti near Atlanta. Please join us for a full day of meditation, Dharma learning, community connection, and peaceful renewal. Families and individuals welcome. Children and adults groups.

What to Expect
A similar format to our recent Grant Park Meditation at Quang Minh one-day retreat, including:
• Morning meditation and intention setting
• Age-based Dharma teachings from our monastic and lay teachers
• Group activities to build compassion and connection
• A nourishing vegetarian lunch
• Yin yoga and soundbath
Please wear modest clothing and do not smoke or bring drugs, alcohol, meat, or seafood to the property. Photos are welcome, but try to digital detox and avoid using cell phones during the sessions.
Teachers list on our website, but this one will include Venerable Maha Dam Phommasan, the abbot of Wat Lao Buddha Khanti. He was an original member of the monks in the Walk for Peace, joining when the pilgrimage began in Fort Worth, Texas, on its 2,300-mile journey to Washington, D.C, but lost his leg in an accident. Most recently, he welcomed the Walk to his temple in Snellville, Georgia, on the 67th day of their journey—an especially meaningful moment, as the Walk honored him during his recovery from a serious accident.
Free. Donations are appreciated - we are all volunteers and there are no paid staff, but your support is welcome to help with supplies, food, teachers, maintenance, etc. (For those able, a minimum $25 generous offering is suggested.) All are welcome.
