Find out the 4-step process and tools to cultivate mental wellbeing, and how Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) helps.
About this Event

This session on Zoom is for those who are keen to learn how mindfulness helps improve wellbeing and focus, and enhances our capacity to respond skilfully to distress such as stress, burnout, low moods and anxiety.

Practicing mindfulness involves intentionally paying attention to the present moment without judgment. This leads us to stepping out of living in our thoughts, from autopilot mode to becoming more alive and awakened. In this latter state, we can assess situations better and be less reactive, we appreciate life in each moment, and we gain clarity to what lies beneath our actions, cravings and fears to live with more ease, balance and contentment.

What you would gain from this session:

1) Do a short test on your level of mindfulness.

2) How we unwittingly tend to add to and prolong our difficulties.

3) The 4-step process of freeing ourselves and choosing a wiser response.

4) Info about our upcoming 8-Week Mindfulness For Life program in Mar-Apr.

5) Do one mindfulness practice.

Note: mindfulness is not a panacea and its benefits cannot be fully appreciated and realized in one hour; it’s a lifelong journey of practice.

About Mindfulness For Life (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy or MBCT for Life)

Originally developed in the 1990s by three university academics, Zindel Segal (Toronto), Mark Williams (now Oxford) and John Teasdale (Cambridge), MBCT is secular, evidence-based and recommended by the National Health Service (NHS) in England, and the UK National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). MBCT For Life is a slight adaptation, developed according to the latest thinking and research at Oxford University and other leading mindfulness centers, and is widely taught to a non-clinical and also clinical population.
