Join us for a nature walk! This month's walk will be co-led by Maggie Smart-McCabe, a local compost and soil advocate who teaches about community soil health. When Maggie isn’t leading volunteers at a local compost hub, they are often behind the microscope observing microorganisms in soil and compost samples from community gardens.During this walk, we will discuss common microorganisms— specifically ones that are unique to wetland and riparian habitats. We will also discuss how soil microbial ecology supports building healthy, biodiverse, and mature ecosystems! Bring your cameras, scopes, and loupes, we will have limited available to borrow.
