Walking with your Thoughts
At this group, we will discuss thoughts and our relationship to our thoughts. We will discuss cognitive defusion, a technique for ‘unhooking’ or taking the power out of those thoughts that trouble us most. We will then practice various cognitive (thought) defusion techniques while taking a mindful walk on Mount Royal. Come explore your mind and thoughts during a walk on the Mountain!

The Mindful Walking Series:
The mindful walking series is a 6-week series of events where we dive into various aspects of well-being during meditative or reflective walks on Mount Royal. Join for 1 event or all 6, it's up to you! At each event, I will share mindfulness-based therapeutic techniques for coping with complex thoughts, understanding our values, accepting ourselves, and taking action toward what matters to us.
Each event begins with a short explanation of the theme for that day. We then take a short walk together where I highlight how to practice the therapeutic technique we just discussed. Then, you will have time to practice the technique while walking on your own for a few minutes. At the end of the event, we come back together as a group and discuss (or not, it’s up to you) our experiences. There will be tea and chocolate :)
