Research has shown that Mindful Self-Compassion is a resource and a skill that can help improve our emotional well-being, improve our ability to cope with life’s challenges, lower levels of anxiety and depression, promote healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and lead to more satisfying personal relationships.
Mindfulness and Self-Compassion are learnable skills.

​This short course in Mindful Self-Compassion (SC-MSC) is a 6-week adaptation of the empirically-supported 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program designed to teach you some of the principles and practices of mindful self-compassion, so you can better relate to and care for yourself, both physically and emotionally.

Instead of meeting our challenges with self-blame and criticism, we can bring a kind and mindful attention to our experiences (thoughts, emotions, and sensations) and a sense of love and care to ourselves, right in the midst of difficult situations.

With practice, we can strengthen this inner quality of presence, connectedness, and kindness to improve emotional well-being, build resilience and improve our relationship with our anxiety, and ourselves.

Cultivating self-compassion in this way can fundamentally shift how we relate to ourselves and to our anxiety. Past participants report a significant shift in their anxiety after they start to cultivate the skills of self-compassion.
What to expect:
The program is offered online through ZOOM for six consecutive weeks from 7 - 8:30 pm PST.
This program is experiential. Each class we will present some teaching and introduce a new practice to try. You will have the opportunity to experience the practice for yourself and then self-reflect individually, as well as in small groups if comfortable (optional).
Participants will be asked to keep their video cameras on during the sessions.
Classes will not be recorded in order to protect confidentiality.
Each week the program builds on the previous weeks teachings. Please consider whether you can commit to attending at least 5/6 classes before registering at this time.
