Mindful Nature Walk with Sketching at Astoria Park

Get inspired by our neighborhood's largest park, Astoria Park, a natural wonderland if you know how to look. As a trained expressive arts therapist and an Astoria resident for over 30 years, I will guide you through the untrodden path, tell you the history of this secret neck of the woods, and then lead you on a nature-inpried sketch or photo session. Bring your mind, heart and body together on this eco-therapy walk. Studies have shown that "nature perscriptions" at least 20 minutes in the green outdoors lowers blood pressure, improves mood, reduces stress and anxiety.

Depending on the session we can pull prints of our foraged materials, sketch landscapes and skyscape, take art shots of the urban nature and of course, the famous Hell's Gate Bridge. $10 for an hour and a half. All materials included.

Bring your camera, comfortable walking shoes, eye protection and sunscreen in case it is very sunny.
