Join Fiona Hall from Camban Studio at the Greyhope Bay Centre for this relaxing workshop, where participants will be encouraged to slow down and explore together how we can better understand the places around us through mindful journalling.
About the workshop:
Participants will be invited to spend some moments grounding themselves within the outdoor space at Greyhope before an introduction to journalling and sketch booking techniques and prompts that can help you to mindfully explore the site. Through these exercises we will create moments for intimate investigations of what surrounds us – what can you see if you really slow down to notice? What ideas may emerge about your place, your relationship to it and what might you learn or discover?
To close the workshop participants are invited to share their findings and have some final reflections before leaving with a more activated connection to our natural world.
About Fiona Hall:
Fiona Hall started her business Camban Studio to share her passion for design, colour, texture, print, pattern, beautiful materials and the natural beauty of her home landscape in Scotland. She has a strong interest in how craft and better connections with our natural environments can help with personal wellbeing.
After graduating from The Glasgow School of Art in Product Design, she then went on to train as a Jeweller. Working from her studio at Deemouth Artist Studios, Aberdeen, she has now returned to a childhood love of textiles and hand stitch.
Alongside her studio practice, Fiona works at a local University working on projects to promote and support positive wellbeing.
