About this Event

Join me for a 30 minute hike through Inwood Hill Park. We'll pause for a meditative breathing exercise followed by a 25 minute session of nature journaling. Participants will sketch, write, photograph, and/or doodle their impressions of the park.

(approx. 1 1/2 hrs total)

Journals are provided. Dressing in layers & with comfortable walking shoes is recommended.

We will meet at the park entrance at Dykman Street & Payson Ave by the restrooms on the corner.

The A train and 1/9 trains are a few short blocks from the meet up location.

After you register you will receive an email with more details a week prior to the Hike. However, feel free to reach out anytime with questions: [email protected]

*Mindful Hikes happen on the last Sunday of each month

Mindful Nature Journaling Hikes engage participants with nature threefold; the hike immerses participants in natural surroundings, the meditation brings the nervous system in tune with nature, and the journaling provides the means to closely observe and thereby connect more deeply with nature.

Jessica Dalrymple is a Brooklyn based artist inspired by nature in the city working in oil paint and mixed media. She has taught painting and botanical drawing for Trestle Workshops, The Old Stone House, The Gowanus Dredgers, Hamilton College, Human Impacts Institute, and New Jersey Institute of Technology & Design and earned a certificate in horticulture from Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.
