About this Event

Calm your mind, relax your body and experience an evening of yoga inspired exercise and sound bathing in the magnificent surroundings of Chelmsford Cathedral.

Yoga techniques and sound bathing are ancient techniques that boost physical and mental well-being. This session focuses on movement and breathing to exercise your body and quieten your mind while sound bathing involves participants being ‘bathed’ in rhythmic sound waves encouraging you to relax, release stress and anxiety. The evening seeks to balance physical and emotional well-being ready for restorative sleep.

The techniques will be suitable for everyone, regardless of experience (you will need to be able to get on and off of the floor). You will need to bring a mat, two blankets and pillow. If you have any other props that you like to use, please bring them along.

The two-hour session includes an hour of yoga inspired exercise and an hour of sound bathing with our experienced and qualified teachers, Mandy Haynes and Sammi Sutton.

Mandy Haynes: Mandy's ethos as a yoga teacher is the importance of creating time and spaces for ourselves. She passionately believes that yoga gives us the chance to move out of our heads, out of whatever is going on in our daily life, and bring our awareness back into our body and our breath. Sammi Sutton: With her whole life being shaped by music in one form or another, Sammi decided to bring her knowledge of sound and her passion to teach together to create calming, heart warming spaces where all feel welcome and safe. Please note there are a few precautions and contraindications for sound baths for those with the following conditions; epilepsy, pregnancy, implants or plates in the body. Please check with your doctor whether a sound bath is safe for you.
