About this Event
Join us in learning repair and maintenence techniques for your manual SLR film cameras! Attendees are encouraged to bring their film cameras in need of basic repair (broken seals, dust build up, trouble shooting camera issues, etc). If you don't have a camera that needs repairing, feel free to join to learn the skills, tricks, and techniques for the future! This beginner friendly workshop will be guided step-by-step and all materials (aside from the cameras to repair) will be provided!
About the facilitator:
August is a Photographer and Visual Artist based out of the traditional and unceeded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples in British Columbia, Canada. Their art has been exhibited in public galleries across BC, as well as published in print format. As an artist that lives with a disability, they are dedicated in seeking equity in the arts in tandem with creating a meaningful and genuine body of work. Having experienced barriers to access and gate-keeping of information, August is excited to be collaborating with the team at SUPPLY to host this camera repair and skill-sharing workshop.
