Mindful Mending

Learn how to fix your clothes with simple and decorative stitches! Bring your own fabric item to mend, or practice on recycled denim to make a fabric coaster.

Each ticket includes a visible mending kit from Creative Confidence.

Shannon Quigley, from Creative Confidence, will lead stitching demos and Mira Toth, from PhysioMira, will demonstrate simple stretches that you can do before any craft activity - to help calm the mind and prevent tension in the neck and shoulders.

• Bring your own fabric item to mend, or practice on samples provided. The visible mending kits are designed for non-stretchy fabrics (stretchy denim works) and aren't designed for knitted sweaters or thin jersey fabrics. Feel free to bring knitted/jersey items along for advice and maybe mending (knits are typically fixed with darning instead of stitched patches).

• Each ticket includes a visible mending kit from Creative Confidence with 1 water soluble stitch pattern of your choice, 1 colour of DMC thread, and 1 needle. Additional threads and materials will be available to purchase if you can't pick just one design :)

• If you have threads and stitching materials you like to use, feel free to bring them along.
