A mindfulness walk with Dr. Grace Burford focused on our visual sense
We can get a lot of different benefits from taking a walk in a natural outdoor setting. We might love catching up on our friends’ lives, or happily learn to identify flora and fauna, or enjoy exercising our bodies, or get a sense of accomplishment from reaching a particular destination—or some combination of all of these. On a Mindful Meander, we set aside such worthy activities for a couple of hours to focus instead on simply being present in nature. We practice using our senses to expand our awareness of the natural world, both what’s around us and ourselves within it.
For this Mindful Meander, Grace Burford will lead a small group in a 2-hour deep dive into experiencing nature through mindfulness of seeing.
$20 per person
Space is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.
Grace Burford, Ph.D., Prescott College Faculty Emerita, certified Arizona Master Naturalist (Central Highlands), ordained Buddhist minister and chaplain, began offering her Mindful Meandering programs in 2023. For these mindful walks in nature, Grace draws on her lifelong practice of Buddhist meditations, career as a college professor, decades of facilitating Spiritual Deep Ecology workshops, and love of natural history and mindful immersion in nature.
