About this Event
Join us for a 30 minute hike through Riverside Park. We'll pause for a meditative breathing exercise followed by a 20-30 minute session of nature journaling. Participants will sketch, write, and/or doodle their impressions of the park.
(approx. 1 1/2 hrs total)
Supplies are provided but, feel free to bring your own sketchbook/journal. Dressing in layers & with comfortable walking shoes is recommended.
We will meet at the park entrance at 116th Street and Riverside Drive.
* The Mindful Hike & Nature Journaling happens on the last Sunday of each month
Jessica Dalrymple is a Brooklyn based artist inspired by nature in the city working in oil paint and mixed media. She has taught painting and botanical drawing for Trestle Workshops, The Old Stone House, The Gowanus Dredgers, Hamilton College, and New Jersey Institute of Technology & Design.
Marisa Löwenstein, originally from Argentina, is a Vedic Mediation Teacher and illustrator, she hails over 10 years of meditation experience. Trained in New York and Rishikesh, India, Marisa shares the benefits of meditation to attain deep rest of the mind and body, while restoring health and reconnection to her inner self. Marisa teaches in English and Spanish.
