About this Event
Mindful Growing Volunteer Session (every Tuesday, 12.30-2.30pm)
Volunteers support us in growing organic food to benefit the local community, as part of our Community Food Initiative. Each week, our experienced horticulturalist Vicki, will guide the small group through a range of gardening activities focusing on organic food growing and biodiverse gardening methods.
There will also be the chance to take part in creative, nature-based art activities inspired by our garden.
This session provides an opportunity to connect with a community of local people and develop and practice new skills in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. Adults with any level of gardening experience are welcome, from those who are total beginners to more experienced gardeners.
Important information:
- Large groups: This is a small volunteer session aimed at improving wellbeing and tackling social isolation. For groups larger than 5 wanting to volunteer, please email Eve at [email protected].
- Equipment and clothing: We will supply all the necessary equipment for activities. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing that is suitable for gardening.
- Refreshments: We end each session with tea, coffee and snacks - a chance for our community to come together after volunteering. These are provided free of charge.
- Bee Allergies: We have a small apiary on site so we advise anyone attending with a known bee allergy or risk of an allergic reaction to bring their Medic*tion with them. We do not keep epi-pens on site and our staff are not liable to administer them because it is a prescribed Medic*tion.
Places are limited so if you are unable to attend please do make sure to cancel your booking so someone else can volunteer!
We are happy to support any accessibility requirements. If you have any questions at all please email [email protected]
