About this Event
OPS is delighted to be co-hosting this mindful tea and dim sum ceremony with our friends over at Oxford Buddhist Studies Society (OBSS)!
We will be settling in for an afternoon of calm meditation in New College's Long Room, whilst consciously engaging with the things we often take for granted the most - food and drink. Not only are they integral to our survival on a material level, they are also found at the heart of so many human social rituals that are necessary for the fostering of community. This meditation and discussion will invite us all to seek the value in practising gratitude both as internal and external processes that may ripple through the world to positive effects. What better way to end the week than with a hot cup of tea and delicious dim sum!
What will be provided:
- Vegetarian and vegan dim sum options
- A variety of herbal teas
- Fruit
- Paper plates and cups
- Chairs for those without cushions or yoga mats
Things to bring:
- You might like to bring a meditation cushion or yoga mat if you have one
- You might like to bring a mug for the tea
- You might like to bring a blanket for comfort
- You might like to bring your own snacks if you have any intolerances or allergies
Please note that both the event and meditation are open to participants of all faiths, or lack thereof - it is a safe space for any and everyone to practise mindfulness in their own way.
